michael jordan biography

Michael Jeffrey Jordan, born February 17, 1963 in the borough of Brooklyn in New York, is a former basketball player has evolved in the American Championship North American professional basketball, the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1984 to 2003. The British Broadcasting Corporation or the NBA, "Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time" [1], [8]. Indeed, it is considered one of the greatest champions of all time in any sport [8], and helped popularize international basketball and the NBA around the world in the years 1980 and 1990 [ 8].

He studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he led the Tar Heels to victory in the championship final University, 1982. Michael Jordan then joined the Chicago Bulls in the NBA in 1984. It is fast becoming a star in the league thanks to its excellent statistics. His jumping ability, illustrated by his slam dunks [Footnote 1] from the free throw line during the contest slam dunks earned him the nicknames of Air Jordan [1] and His Airness [2], [Note 2]. He is reputed to be one of the best defenders in the league [9]. In 1991 he won his first NBA title with the Bulls, and then follows this success with two new titles in 1992 and 1993. Although Jordan has retired from basketball abruptly at the beginning of the 1993-1994 season after the assassination of his father, he pursued a brief career in baseball and the Bulls finally found in 1995. They led to three additional championships (1996, 1997 and 1998) and an NBA record 72 games during the regular season wins during the season 1995-1996. Jordan retired for the second time in 1999, but returned again for two more seasons in the NBA in 2001 as a player for the Washington Wizards.

The individual awards and honors include five of Michael Jordan the best player trophy of the season, ten first team selections in the team's best players in the league and nine in the first team of the team of the best defenders League, fourteen appearances in the All-Star games, three awards of best player of All-Star games, ten securities for its number of points scored, three titles of best interceptor, six trophies best player in the league final and the title of best defender in the league in 1988. He holds the record for highest average points scored per game during the regular season throughout his career (30.12 ppg) and in the playoffs (33.4 ppg). He also has two Olympic championships with the United States. In 1999 he was named Best North American athlete of the twentieth century by the television network ESPN on Sport [1] and finished second behind the baseball player Babe Ruth on the list of athletes of the century according to news agency Associated Press [10]. He joined in 2009 the Hall of Fame basketball.

Jordan is also famous for the products to which he lends his image, like perfume, or footwear, which proves the success of sport shoes "Air Jordan" Nike [8]. These contracts allow it to amass a fortune rarely achieved by an athlete. After co-owner and manager of the franchise the Charlotte Bobcats in North Carolina in 2006, he became the owner since March 2010 and also has its own stable of superbike.

Knowing that season includes 82 games, Michael Jordan made nine of the 15 full seasons he played.
Knowing that a game lasts 48 minutes (excluding overtime), Michael Jordan still averaged 38 minutes per game, leaving just 10 minutes to his replacement ...
He liked to pull the basket (12 192 shots on 2-point field goals attempted 24,537 shots) and cause the enemy defense (7327 to 8772 free throws attempted) while having an excellent success rate relative to its position (rear).
The completeness of his game is perfectly illustrated by the figures: more than 6 rebounds, 5 assists over more than two interceptions, nearly 1 cons, more than 30 points.

In my opinion, his best season was 1988-89. It ends almost with a triple double average over the season (30 points, 8 rebs, 8 assists). All these statistics are close to its record. Today, some players have a complete profile of aligning stats correct in several categories (Kobe Bryant on the 2002-03 season with 6.9 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 30 points, Jason Kidd on the 1999-00 season with 7.2 rebounds, 10.1 assists and 14.3 points or Dwane Wade on the 2004-05 season with 5.2 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 24.1 points). However, none of them has a profile as effective as that of Michael Jordan.

ordan has the best average points in the playoffs of all time (33.4). And what about the fabulous series against the Celtics of Bird in 1986. Despite the defeat 3 sets to 0, Jordan scored this series with the stratospheric average 43.7 points per game (63 pts in the second game).
The 1987-88 playoffs marked the beginning of the crusade to the Bulls as sacred. Under orders by Doug Collins with the support of young Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant, they pass the first round and their arms only against the Pistons. A dynatise is seeing the day, it remains only a catalyst.
From the 1990-91 season, the Bulls will definitely establish their supremacy on the world of the orange ball. They will align two peats Three in six years.

Jordan has always raise the level of his game in the final stages. More aggressive defense and most prolific attack, he always kept in mind that the real basketball season started in the playoffs.

6 = 6 NBA Finals MVP titles finals. The balance is simple: come in the final, Jordan became the best on the field.
Every time he faced the world's best players (Magic, Clyde Charles, Shawn and Karl) and they dominated. Playing more than 40 minutes per game, shoot it with a good address (over 50% success). His average score is also huge, with a peak of 41 during the finals against the Suns. I remembered also the collective performance of 1991 with 11.4 assists ... It was certainly inspired by Magic.

Michael Jordan was selected to an All Star Game 14 times (including 13 as a holder and being injured).
His 40 points in the match of 1988 in Chicago, making him the second best scorer in All-Star Game behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. But the game's most amazing is that of 1997 (Cleveland) during which he made the first triple-double in an Al-Star Game. Jordan has always been acclaimed by the public and that is why his average playing time is very high in this game (about 30 min).
3 times winner of the title of All Star Game MVP (1988, 1996 and 1998), he would certainly have been in 1997 with his triple-double but did not count with the hot hand of Glenn Rice.

Jordan finished second best scorer behind Barkley (18.0 pts) and he beats the record of the total number of interceptions (37) with a huge average 4.6/match. It may be noted that Jordan was "only" twice the highest-paid player in 1997 and 1998. Of course, this table takes into account only the NBA salary and not the ancillary revenues (advertising, merchandising ...). The evolution dusalaire average NBA continues to grow each year: Magic Johnson became the first player to win more than ten million dollars in a single season in 1997, Kevin Garnett, who is 21 years only the biggest sign Contract history: 126 million over seven years. It is noted that Jordan was twice below the average wage in 2002 and 2003, during his last two years in Washington.
Among the top wages, there are two salient facts:
- 1990: the top salary is John "Hot Rod" Williams who, having raised the stakes between the Cavs and the Heat became the highest paid player when his potential has not yet broken.
- In 1995 the top salary is Magic Johnson. Remember that Magic has retired ... Among active players, the top salary is then David Robinson with a total of 7.3 million.

Here is a list of 44 players who played with Michal Jordan during his six years captioned. These players have all participated in the NBA finals. Some have just played a few regular-season games before leaving the Chicago Bulls.Note that among all his teammates, only Scottie Pippen participated (actively) to the six victorious epics. Jordan Poker

When we know that Michael Jordan has repeatedly been considered too physically just for basketball as a child, we say that some things, including careers are hanging by a thread.
Or a competitive spirit. Fortunately, because Michael Jordan has always been passionate about sport in general, has dedicated much of his early years in baseball outside of basketball.
Golf and football are also part of its favorite sports.

The Brooklyn native has since found other hobbies, including a love for sports cars non-American (which earned him the gift of a Cadillac by the brand manager to rectify the situation) and sport bikes. The former glory of flooring also has his own team (Michael Jordan Motorsports team) under banner Suzuki technique.

Apart from pure sport, Michael Jordan has always had a big gambling addiction Whether in terms of paris sports or anything and everything. And it is natural that one day the star was facing poker. First with his teammates he plucked regularly, and later especially during charity events alongside many other celebrities, such as the Trent Tucker Celebrity Poker Tournament in more than 100 players (he won!) Or Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees for the Association Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami, 2006.
Jordan did not expect at least not necessarily such a good time when he was interviewed at the exit of the first: "I just came to have fun and help the association Trent Tucker. It was just for fun and I just played my cards right. I am not concerned about winning or losing. "
And when you know that one of the starting hand of Texas Hold'em has been dubbed the "Michael Jordan" (2 and 3, for the figures of his now legendary jersey number), at least we can now not say it was for nothing....

Legend Jordan..Hall of Fame

Inducted 11 September 2009
Michael Jordan entered the hall of fame, the pantheon of NBA Michael Jordan finally entered the pantheon of the basketball world: the Hall of Fame. Each year, the basketball Hall of Fame welcomes some legends of basketball. The class of 2009 will remain outstanding with the enthronement of the best player of all time: Michael Jordan. Never have created a ceremony much buzz. To make it even more memorable ceremony, Jordan shared the honor with other NBA legends: David Robinson (former Spurs star pin, a former MVP, former NBA champion in 1999 and a member of Dream Team 92), John Stockton (the man who made the highest number of assists in the NBA, a member of Dream Team) and two coaches (Jerry Sloan - coach C. Vivian Stringer and Jazz).

During his speech, Jordan did honor to all those who counted in his career. Leroy Smith mentioned that he revealed to the school Lanet School. He exposed the two people who pushed him to take responsibility in a team: Buzz Peterson - his teammate and Dean Smith - the legendary coach of the Tar Heels of North Carolina. He did not forget his career with his various coaches successive Kevin Loughery, Doug Collins, Phil Jackson the Bulls in Chicago. He gave a nod to Byron Russell, the defender put the Jazz in the wind during the decisive shot from the 1998 final.
Among the many responses, I appreciate the chairman Jerry Reinsdorf of the Bulls: "It's a great honor for the Hall of Fame to welcome Michael for Michael to enter. Finally, Jordan concluded his speech with style and fair play: "People say I was the greatest player. Certainly, I like that! But I've never played against Jerry West, Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain. Okay, I would have loved to, but say I'm better than them, it's not for me to decide. And do not be pressed to find another Michael Jordan, because obviously there will be another one. " Despite the modesty of these words, we can easily imagine that Jordan was the best during any decade.
